Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bytefreezer ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bytefreezer is a security data recording and analytics platform that allows you to:

  • Record and store security operational data
  • Store data in your own S3-compatible storage (BYOB)
  • Query data using AI agents (BYOA)
  • Perform forensic analysis and investigations

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

4. Data Ownership

Your Data: You retain all rights to your data. With our BYOB model, your security data is stored in your own infrastructure. We do not claim ownership of any data you process through the Service.

Data Portability: Your data is stored in standard Parquet format, ensuring you can access and migrate your data at any time without vendor lock-in.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Service Tiers

Open Source

The open source version is provided under the Elastic License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the software according to that license.

Managed & Enterprise

Commercial tiers are subject to separate subscription agreements with specific service level commitments.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BYTEFREEZER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bytefreezer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease. Your data remains accessible in your own storage infrastructure.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
